Barbara Chatfield, MD

Barb is a highly respected pediatric pulmonologist and cystic fibrosis researcher.  She is also a wife and mother of three young adult daughters. When Barb was a child, she watched her own mother survive breast cancer, and then watched her sister survive the same diagnosis as an adult. Barb’s experience with cancer has caused her to reflect upon her own medical career, providing her with a deeper understanding of her patients process.

As a physician, she understands what the reality of her medical diagnosis means: treatment, hospice, and facing the end of her life. She and her family recognize that any minute could be her last. Events that wouldn’t have happened for years, like wedding dress shopping and engagements, are brought into the present to experience while Barb is alive.
